After some more detail?
“Our decision to hire a doula stemmed from my partner and I both being people pleasers. This being our first pregnancy, we anticipated we would not be confident to advocate for ourselves during birth. Yahna helped us both to find our voice and feel confident to navigate the confusing and sometimes harrowing public hospital system. I feel so empowered by my birth experience and I owe so much to Yahna for it. Without her wisdom and encouragement (both soft and firm, as required) I can honestly say I would not have had the positive birth I ended up having, which set me up for postpartum and motherhood so beautifully. She’s been around the birthing suites many times before and immediately garners respect from the midwives. My partner and I felt so powerful having her in our corner."
